"Throughout the decades I have painted flower pictures - deliberately and with particular pleasure, even in times when this was completely frowned upon by the prevailing zeitgeist, especially during the days of the so-called 'wild painters'. On winter days in the old gray walled city of Berlin it was quite a pleasure to put a bouquet of flowers in the studio – the fact that 'flower pictures' are not all the same is often overlooked. Its always a question of the context they were made in. " Rainer Fetting in March 2020.
