Very nice and richly decorated manuscript with poems and short prose pieces by poets from Iran, Transoxania and India. The publisher (and presumably also author) Muhammed Gafar al-Hindi begins, after the preface, with a selection of older poets, according to their region of origin, continues with contemp. poets and finishes with his own poems. - Two double pages each with a splendid arabesque illumination and floral marginal borders in gold and colours, numerous captions in red, light blue or white on gold ground with colour devices on the side, each left page with small decorative pieces in the margin, in the most delicate execution, each text area with a golden, red and blue bordering line. The outer boards each with a lavishly made depiction of a bouquet of roses and other flowers, the inside covers with a rosebush and a nightingale. - First and last ll. with small worming in the margin, first l. (title) with the blank reverse side mounted on the flying endpaper, last l. with large defective spot, 2 ll. with broad marginal cut-off in the head margin, few narrow marginalia. Edges of manuscript scraped. All in all well-preserved manuscript with hardly any stains.
