Eine ebenso seltene zweite Ausgabe erschien 1711. - Berthelot war Professor der Hydrographie in Marseille. Unter seinem Namen erschien u. a. 1695 eine zweiblättrige Seekarte des Mittelmeers.

EINBAND: Lederband der Zeit mit reicher Rückenvergoldung. 17,5 : 11 cm. - ILLUSTRATION: Mit Holzschnitt-Titelvignette und 35 schematischen Textholzschnitten. - KOLLATION: 2 Bll., 243 S., 10 Bll. - ZUSTAND: Vorsätze und Titel fleckig. Einbd. mit kl. Restaurierungen.

First edition of the scarce treatise on navigation; an equally rare second edition was published in 1711. - Berthelot was professor for hydrography in Marseille. A sea chart of the Mediterranean in two sheets was published under his name in 1695. With woodcut title vignette and 35 woodcuts in the text. Contemp. calf (with restaurations) with rich gilt decoration on spine. - Endpapers and title stained, otherwise well-preserved.(R)
